>I’m thinking that’s what you get when you do something like this:
An Italian nun was shot dead at a hospital by Somali gunmen Sunday, hours after a leading Muslim cleric condemned
Pope Benedict XVI for his remarks on Islam and violence. The nun, who was not immediately identified, was shot in the back at S.O.S. Hospital in northern Mogadishu by two gunmen, said Mohamed Yusuf, a doctor at the facility, which serves mothers and children. The nun’s bodyguard and a hospital worker were also killed, doctors said.
Dang. Looks like somebody better get the Pope a speech writer before he makes any more statements that get nuns shot.
>sad to hear about the nun being killed, based on the speech from the pope, but lets see how "big" a man he is…by attending her funeral, performing the service. i think there's more power there in symbolism than anything he could say.

>A good friend/crazy Republican mentioned this story to me this weekend and he was so offended when I said, "so?". He asked me how I could be so inhumane and I asked him why he is more saddened by the death of someone in his own religion than by the now 400,000 innocent civilians slaughtered in Sudan. He also didn't seem to mind that we've "liberated" 100,000 innocent civilians from their bodies in Iraq during our bombing campaigns. But one nun seems to really burn his soul. I don't get it.
