I canNOT believe it is December. I…seriously, I really just can’t wrap my brain around this. Where has the year gone? I feel like I’ve accomplished a lot. Been doing quite a bit of writing with some good stuff coming down the pike. (This partially explains why I haven’t posted in months; the other reason is, well, just plain ol’ neglect. I WILL do better. Okay, okay, I’ll TRY to do better.)
Anyway, Happy Holidays, folks. Love each other. Be kind. Time flies when you’re not watching and even when you are. Yada, yada, yada. I’m up late writing, so I’m feeling kinda schmaltzy. Ooh, and Network just came on Cinemax, which means I’m gonna be up even longer.
Directed by Sidney Lumet with a powerhouse cast featuring William Holden, Faye Dunaway, Peter Finch, Robert Duvall, and a fantastic script by Paddy Chayefsky, it’s one of the most prescient films ever made, practically a boilerplate for how things are today with reality television and the savage nothing’s-off-limits quest for ratings. I’ve seen this movie too many times to count and never tire of watching it. Plus, it spawned the iconic “I’m as mad as hell and I’m not going to take this anymore!” line, which, by itself, is worth its salt.
But I digress…
So what was I saying? Oh yeah, that “be kind” stuff. ‘Tis the season, but don’t just do it during the holidays. Treat each other well all year long, people. We’re all we got, at least until aliens decide to make themselves known. Let’s hope they’re friendly.
Now, if you don’t mind, I’m finna watch this kickass movie.
